Coke, The raw material primarily comprises high-quality coking coal with strong bonding properties, such as coking coal and fertilizer coal, necessitating coal blending during the production process. Typically, coke production is dominated by high-temperature retorting, utilizing mature technology in large-sized coke oven equipment. These ovens have a carbonization chamber height exceeding 6.0m and a volume over 38.5m³. Generally, coke products are mainly utilized in metallurgical industries, including blast furnace ironmaking and casting.

The Main Purpose of Coke:

1. Coke is the most significant product of coking, with over 90% used for blast furnace ironmaking in most countries. Substituting iron smelting coke for charcoal laid the foundation for modern large blast furnaces, marking a major milestone in metallurgy history.

2. Coke is used for casting and the smelting of non-ferrous metals such as copper, lead, zinc, titanium, and antimony. It functions as a reducing agent, heat agent, and structural skeleton within these processes.

3. In the smelting industry, a small quantity of coke is employed for the preparation of calcium carbide, carbon disulfide, phosphorus, and other elements. In steel joint ventures, coke powder also serves as a sintered fuel. Moreover, it can be a raw material for synthesizing water gas and other raw materials.

4. For optimal technical and economic indicators in blast furnace operations, smelting coke (metallurgical coke) must possess appropriate chemical and physical properties, including the necessary thermal characteristics for the smelting process.

5. Besides its extensive use in iron and non-ferrous metal smelting (metallurgical coke), coke is also valuable for casting, chemical production, calcium carbide manufacturing, and ferroalloy production.

Coke can substantially replace refinery coke or stone grinds, offering significant cost advantages. With a calorific value exceeding 9386K/KG, Carbon Additive can also serve as fuel, making it a valuable alternative to burnt carbon, which requires an export quota. Hence, the price superiority of carburizing agents is evident.
