1. As the most crucial product of the coking process, more than 90% of coke production worldwide is dedicated to blast furnace ironmaking. Replacing charcoal with coke for iron smelting has marked a significant milestone in the modernization of large-scale blast furnaces, solidifying its cornerstone role in metallurgy.
2. Our coke is also vital in the production of various non-ferrous metals such as copper, lead, zinc, titanium, and antimony via blast furnace smelting. It acts as a reducing agent, heat source, and structural support within the furnace.
3. Within the smelting industry, although used in smaller quantities, coke remains essential for the production of calcium carbide, carbon disulfide, phosphorus, and other elements. It also serves as a sintered fuel in steel joint ventures and as a raw material for synthesizing water gas.
4. For optimal technical and economic performance in blast furnace operations, smelting coke (metallurgical coke) must exhibit appropriate chemical, physical, and thermal properties tailored to the smelting process.
5. Beyond its extensive use in iron and non-ferrous metal smelting (metallurgical coke), our coke is also employed in casting, chemical industries, calcium carbide production, and ferroalloys.
