Calcined Petroleum Coke
Created from high-quality raw 'green' petroleum coke, Calcined Petroleum Coke undergoes a transformation in rotary kilns, where it is subjected to intense heat ranging from 1200 to 1350 degrees C (2192 to 2460 F).
These high temperatures effectively eliminate excess moisture and residual hydrocarbons,
while also modifying the crystalline structure of the coke. This process results in a denser, more electrically conductive product.
Within hours, the calcined petroleum coke is rapidly cooled from 1350 degrees C to below 200 degrees C, making it safe for handling.
It is then ready for transport to storage silos or for direct shipment via containers, trucks, railcars, barges, or vessels.
----The primary applications of calcined petroleum coke are in prebaked anodes and anode pastes for electrolytic aluminum, carbonizers for the carbon industry, graphite electrodes, smelting industrial silicon, and as fuels.
