2. It is vital for casting and the smelting of non-ferrous metals like copper, lead, zinc, titanium, and antimony, serving as a reducing agent, thermal conductor, and structural support.
3. In the smelting industry, coke is used in smaller quantities for producing calcium carbide, carbon disulfide, phosphorus, and other elements. In integrated steel plants, coke powder is utilized as sintered fuel. Additionally, coke is a key raw material for generating water gas, which is further processed into synthesis gas.
