2. Coke is also integral for smelting other metals such as copper, lead, zinc, titanium, and antimony in blast furnaces. It serves as a reducing and heat agent, as well as a structural component in the smelting process.
3. In smaller quantities, coke is used in the preparation of calcium carbide, carbon disulfide, phosphorus, and other elements in the smelting industry. Additionally, coke powder serves as sintered fuel in steel joint ventures and as a raw material for synthesizing water gas.
4. To optimize technical and economic outcomes in blast furnace operations, metallurgical coke must possess suitable chemical, physical, and thermal properties that support the smelting process effectively.

Coke can significantly replace refinery coke or stone grinds at a much lower cost. As a fuel, its high calorific value surpasses 9386K/KG, making it a viable substitute for burnt carbon, which requires export quotas.
