Created by meticulously processing high-quality raw 'green' petroleum coke, Calcined Petroleum Coke undergoes a transformation in rotary kilns. These kilns heat the material to temperatures ranging from 1200 degrees C to 1350 degrees C (2192 to 2460 degrees F).
This intense heat treatment eliminates excess moisture and extracts all remaining hydrocarbons.
It also modifies the crystalline structure of the coke, resulting in a denser, more electrically conductive product. Within a matter of hours,
calcined petroleum coke cools down from 1350 degrees C to below 200 degrees C, making it safe for handling and
transportation. It can then be stored in silos or shipped directly in containers, trucks, railcars, barges, or vessels.
