Coke The raw material for our Premium Quality Metallurgical Coke is predominately coking coal with strong bonding properties. Essential coking coal types, along with fertilizer coal, form the basis, while coal blending is crucial in production. Our advanced coke production leverages high-temperature retorting and highly mature large-sized coke oven technology. With carbonization chambers exceeding 6.0m in height and volumes over 38.5m3, our coke products are primarily deployed in metallurgical industries, including blast furnace ironmaking and casting.

 

The Main Purpose of Coke:

1. As the most critical product of coking, over 90% of coke in most countries is dedicated to blast furnace ironmaking. Coke has replaced charcoal in iron smelting, laying the foundation for modern large blast furnace operations. This substitution marks a significant milestone in metallurgical history.

2. Coke is essential for casting and smelting non-ferrous metals like copper, lead, zinc, titanium, and antimony in blast furnaces, serving as a reducing agent, heat source, and structural support.

3. In the smelting industry, a small portion of coke is utilized for producing calcium carbide, carbon disulfide, phosphorus, and other elements. In steel joint ventures, coke powder acts as a sintering fuel. Additionally, coke serves as a raw material for producing water gas, which is further used in synthesis.

4. To achieve optimal technical and economic outcomes in blast furnace operations, metallurgical coke must possess suitable chemical and physical properties, including thermal attributes relevant to the smelting process.

5. Beyond extensive use in iron and non-ferrous metal smelting, coke (metallurgical coke) finds applications in casting, chemical processes, calcium carbide production, and ferroalloy manufacturing.

Our metallurgical coke can serve as a cost-effective substitute for refinery coke or stone grinds. With a calorific value exceeding 9386K/KG, it also serves as an efficient fuel, potentially replacing burnt carbon, whose exportation requires a quota. Therefore, the price advantage of our carburizing agent is significantly evident.
