Product Description

Introduction:

Calcium Base Grease is expertly crafted from medium viscosity mineral lubricating oil, enriched with natural fatty acid calcium soap. The synthesis of calcium base grease
involves the use of mineral lubricating oil with medium viscosity, rigorously thickened by synthetic fatty acid calcium soap.
Performance Characteristics

(1) The unique interaction between calcium soap and water leads to the formation of hydrates. These hydrates are essential as they allow calcium soap to form highly dispersed fibers within mineral oil. However, once hydrates of calcium soap hydrolyze at temperatures around 100 ºC, the consistency of the grease starts to diminish, capping the effective temperature range of calcium base grease to generally below 60 ºC. Exceeding this temperature causes the grease to soften, potentially leading to a loss of lubrication efficacy.

(2) Calcium base grease boasts excellent water resistance, making it resilient against emulsification and degradation when exposed to water. This quality makes it ideal for lubricating mechanical components operating in wet or moisture-rich environments.

(3) With its superior shearing and thixotropic stability, calcium base grease ensures that even after agitation, it remains firmly in place on the operational surface, enhancing sealing performance without being thrown away.

(4) Thanks to its short fiber and low strength limit, calcium base grease demonstrates outstanding pumping characteristics. It binds more easily compared to other soap-based greases like sodium or aluminum-based, when utilizing the same mineral oil and achieving the same consistency.

In spite of its origins dating back to the 1930s, the calcium-based grease continues to be a globally prevalent choice. It efficiently lubricates rolling and sliding bearings operating at medium speeds and loads across a diverse range of equipment including small-to-medium-sized motors, water pumps, tractors, automobiles, and textile machinery.
