CPCCalcined Petroleum Coke Our Premium Calcined Coke is meticulously crafted by placing high-quality raw 'green' petroleum coke into specialized rotary kilns, where it undergoes a transformation through heating.
The heating process involves reaching rigorous temperatures ranging between 1200 to 1350 degrees Celsius (2192 to 2460 degrees Fahrenheit).
At these elevated temperatures, excess moisture is evaporated, all remaining hydrocarbons are extracted, and the crystalline structure of the coke is modified. This results in a denser, more electrically conductive product. Within a few hours, calcined petroleum coke is cooled from a scorching 1350 degrees Celsius to a manageable less than 200 degrees Celsius. This swift cooling process ensures the product can be safely handled and efficiently transported to storage silos or directly into shipping containers, trucks, railcars, barges, or vessels.
